Driving Directions: You will find us in St. Bride's, Newfoundland and Labrador, on the southern tip of the Cape Shore Loop on Route 100.  From the Trans Canada Highway, you may depart at either the Argentia turnoff in Whitbourne, or at the Salmonier Line intersection. To take the Argentia turnoff, follow Route 100 and to take the Salmonier Line intersection follow first Route 90, then Route 91, and then Route 92.
Owing to its two intersections with the Trans Canada Highway, the Cape Shore is ideal for a loop tour, enthralling travelers with ever changing wooded, barren, and coastal scenery. And, since we are located at the bottom end of the loop, Bird Island Resort is the ideal place to make hotel reservations for Newfoundland Tourism, and our link page is a good place to find other accommodation.

Newfoundland Weather.  Although there are milder climates in Canada, the Newfoundland weather is neither as foggy nor rainy as many believe.  Newfoundland weather is milder than Toronto or Montreal in the the winter, and Newfoundland weather is also milder in the summer months than in Toronto or Montreal.  This means that summer weather conditions are ideal for hiking and that winter weather conditions are ideal for winter sports of all kinds.
