Driving west on 

Trans Canada Highway from

St. John's 


For best road conditions, turn South (left) on Route 100 at Whitbourne.  

Continue driving south past Fitzgerald's Pond Park Camping. Follow Route 100  past Dunville and through the Town of Placentia, and then on south through villages and spectacular scenic sea views to St. Bride's.  After passing through the Town of St. Bride’s, Route 100 turns east.  Drive another 5 minutes or so and turn right at the sign for Cape St. Mary’s Ecological Reserve, and drive on an excellent paved road through grass and scrub wilderness to the Cape St. Mary’s Interpretive Centre.​​​

From Argentia Ferry:


Cape St. Mary’s Sea Bird Ecological Reserve is located just 60 minutes drive south of the Argentia Ferry Terminal at St. Bride’s.  From the Argentia Ferry Terminal, drive south on Route 100 through Placentia and onward on Route 100 through wilderness ocean views and villages with names like Little Barasway, Great Barasway, Ship Cove, Gooseberry Cove, Patrick’s Cove,  Angel’s Cove, Cuslett, and St. Bride’s.  After passing through the Town of St. Bride’s, Route 100 turns east.  Drive another 5 minutes or so and turn right at the sign for Cape St. Mary’s Ecological Reserve, and drive on an excellent paved road through grass and scrub wilderness to the Cape St. Mary’s Interpretive Centre.
